Since its inception, LeMay Erickson Willcox Architects has remained focused on a mission of providing design excellence and superior service to our clients. In order to fulfill this mission, we have chosen to practice in select markets—commercial, residential, fire & rescue/public safety, and religious architecture. We have cultivated exceptional talent and experience within our design studio, and strive to uphold the highest standards of practice in our profession.

LeMay Erickson Willcox was founded in 1986 by Michael LeMay, AIA, and Paul Erickson, AIA. Our first office was located in the basement of Mike’s townhouse in Reston, Virginia. As a result of the founders’ experience and stature in the profession, the firm began to thrive from the very beginning with important commissions in church and municipal architecture.

Jared Willcox, AIA, joined the firm in 1993, bringing strong credentials in commercial architecture and residential development. Neal Roseberry, AIA, joined the practice a year later, bringing extensive expertise in the design of religious facilities in particular. With the retirement of Mike LeMay in 2006, the leadership of the firm today includes Paul Erickson, Jared Willcox, and Neal Roseberry. All of our principals continue to work closely with project management, design, technical, and administrative staff members to ensure that our long-held commitment to design excellence and exceptional service continues.

Throughout our history, we have believed in the importance of responding to a unique calling as “citizen architects.” In addition to providing guidance on projects and mentoring young designers, Paul, Jared, and Neal are active leaders within the architectural profession and the community, serving as officers of the Virginia Society AIA and Northern Virginia AIA, and on county boards, design review boards, and many design juries. They have also been active in regional and national associations and business and civic organizations.

In 2005, LeMay Erickson Willcox was awarded the T. David Fitz-Gibbon Architecture Firm Award from the Virginia Society AIA. The highest honor to be bestowed by the society upon a Virginia-based architecture firm, LeMay Erickson Willcox is one of only three Northern Virginia firms to earn this honor. We have also received many other prestigious design awards for projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

We continue to build upon our portfolio of distinctive, high-quality architecture and interior design. Current milestone projects include the new Manassas Town Center and the Potomac Yard Fire Station. LeMay Erickson Willcox Architects now employs a staff of more than 20 and is located in Reston, Virginia.
